SoftwareOn this page you can download the EcoSpoldAccess software component and the corresponding licence agreement. This macro for MS Excel serves to convert the XML files downloaded from the ecoinvent database to an Excel spreadsheet file. It is also possible to use this macro to create XML files compatible to the EcoSpold data format from an Excel spreadsheet. Please note that the conversion Excel2EcoSpold of results files may take some time (up to 10 to 20 minutes) depending on the Excel Version used and its settings. If you encounter problems and you would need the Excel-files for LCA calculations, please contact the ecoinvent support. If you just like have a look at the files, please use the function "View EcoSpold document ..." of the EcoSpold software. To install the EcoSpoldAccess software component version 1.9.10 on your PC, download the file EcoSpoldSetup.1.9.10.exe (if you already have the XML parser; 2.4MB) or the file EcoSpoldSetup.1.9.10.msxml.exe (in case not; 7MB) to your computer and run the executable. In case you use older versions of the EcoSpold software, please make sure that you deinstall all old versions before installing the new one. The procedure to deinstall previous versions is described in the EcoSpold documentation. The installation will add the button bar "EcoSpoldAccess" in Excel. To convert XML files, that you have downloaded from the ecoinvent database, run Excel and click on the button "EcoSpold2Excel". Further information is contained in the documentation file (DocumentationEcoSpold1.2.pdf), which can be found in the subdirectory "ecospold\Doc" of the installation directory you selected. The ecospold directory also contains the XML-Scheme and a description of the EcoSpold data format along with sample files. Please note that the sample files only contain fictitious data. R. Heijungs developed a software that facilitates the conversion steps between CMLCA and EcoSpold of representations of the four statistical distributions uniform, triangular, normal and lognormal.
