LCA Process

Good morning,

I need to model a thermodynamic cycle using wood as fuel.

I selected as process, in the LCA section of the inventory " heat, district or industrial, other than natural gas, heat production hardwood chips, MJ " .

The thermal power of this system is 1100 kW, the process ask me to enter the value of the energy involved, in MJ or kWh. Should I put in this case 1000 kWh (the energy produced during 1 h of my system working ) or something else ?

Thank you.

Dear Enrico,

Yes you can put the amount of energy you need in your total LCA. You acount impacts for your energy needs in this datasets.

Dear Avraam,

thank you for your answer.

I still don't understand should I put the total amount of energy for the total expected life of the component? For example 1100 [kW] * 8760 [h] * 20 [years] ?

If considering as boudaries conditions 100 % load and 100% working time for 20 years.

Dear Enrico,

Please read the documentation of the dataset and all the documents the datasets refers to. You wll get a better idea of how the dataset should be used. We can help you with specific questions related to the data themselves. The amount you are going to use for this dataset is rather a choice of yours within the boundaries of your systems.
